Creativity and Healing

Imagine a Dragons-Den style setup…coming at the end of a 6 week long process of written applications, face-to-face interviews and anxiety (lots of anxiety!)

Imagine putting yourself through all of that just so you speak of your passion and desire to use creativity and connection to help women struggling with their mental health….

Recently I stood in an interview, before a panel of people, scared stiff and voice shaking and spoke of my passion for creativity and reaching out to women who are struggling.

Women who don’t realise how amazing they are, women who are lonely, struggling mentally or are overwhelmed by life.

This panel of people could open doors for me, provide funding and mentoring and ongoing support to enable me to realise this dream of ‘healing through creativity’

But recently, the penny has dropped that THIS is the road you are meant to be on:

REGARDLESS OF ANYONE’S SUPPORT

REGARDLESS OF ANYONE’S MENTORING

REGARDLESS OF ANYONE’S PERMISSION

And you know that whether they accept you or not, the outcome they offer you is now irrelevant – because if you can fight this hard to convince others to back your dream, you can do it yourself anyway.

And that, in the words of Oprah, was a big ‘a-ha’ moment for me…
